Washington does not require training to receive your Washington Concealed Pistol License. This class gives students the opportunity to apply for the Arizona Concealed Carry Permit as well as the Oregon Concealed Handgun License. It also fits all the requirements outlined by initiative 1639 to qualify Washington residents to purchase an assault rifle. Our Instructors are NRA certified with all the knowledge and experience needed to teach you everything you will need to know. In our course we will discuss self defense scenarios and go over step by step what to do and what not to do. Our goal is not to just help you check off all the requirements to get your license; we want to ensure that our students leave the class feeling comfortable and confident in their knowledge of Arizona, Oregon, and Washington concealed carry and self defense laws, ready to go out and conceal carry. Students will leave the course with the required certificate and instructions, ready to finalize and submit their applications for Arizona and/or Oregon as well as an I-1639 card.

Common Questions

After completing my Multi-State CCW/I-1639 course, what else is left to do?

This class gives students the certification they need to apply for an Arizona and/or Oregon permit as well as reviews what the application process looks like for the Washington CLP. Students get to decide which state permits they would like to apply for after the class. For Arizona, the application is submitted through the Arizona DPS (Department of Public Safety). For Oregon, as a Washington resident you will need to apply through an Oregon Sheriff's department. Be aware that not all Oregon sheriffs participate in the non-resident permitting process. You should check the sheriff's website or call ahead. For Washington, you will apply through your local law enforcement agency. You can give them a call to get an application.

What is Initiative 1639?

In November of 2018, Washington adopted I-1639 which made some changes to Washington firearm laws. Under I-1639 to buy an assault weapon, a Washington resident must provide proof they have completed a recognized firearm safety training program in the last five years, including instruction on basic firearm safety, secure gun storage, the safety of children and firearms, suicide prevention, safe handling, and state and federal firearm law. The restrictions also include background checks and waiting periods for purchasing semiautomatic assault rifles. At the end of this class, you will receive a card that shows that you have met the requirements.

Do I need to take a class to get my Washington Concealed Pistol License?

No, you do not need a class to get your Washington Concealed Pistol License. This class gives you the benefit of qualification to apply for an Arizona and/or Oregon concealed carry permit. It also fits the requirements outlined by I-1639 to certify you for the purchase of an assault rifle. While a class is not required to get your Washington CPL, taking this class ensures you have a complete knowledge of Washington firearms law and self-defense law so you will be comfortable and confident to go forward and conceal carry. We will make sure you know exactly what the process looks like to apply for your Washington Concealed Pistol License.
