A seat in a class may be canceled up to two weeks before the class takes place for a full refund of all fees and/or prepayments. Within the two weeks before a class, the participant may notify ASDI that they will not be able to attend the class. Within two weeks before the class, a refund will not be given; however, the class may be rescheduled for another class anytime within the next 6 months, subject to the class schedule and availability of ASDI. Within 48 hours of a class, the participant may notify ASDI that they will not be attending the class and choose to reschedule for another class within the next 6 months with a rescheduling fee of $20, subject to the class schedule and availability of ASDI. Failure to arrive at class without prior notification will result in the loss of all fees and/or prepayments.
All information given to ASDI through its website, classes, e-mail, or phone will be kept confidential. Only basic contact information will be kept on file, as well as records required to be kept on file by state and federal laws in regards to the Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Class. Individual’s information will never be sold or given to a third party.
Payment for all classes and/or services must be received prior to the completion of the class or service.
Finger Printing may be included with a class for free or for an additional charge depending on the individual class. The finger printing service includes one finger printing card with the participant’s prints on it; the prints will be taken by a trained fingerprint technician. While ASDI will do its best to ensure all prints are of acceptable quality, no express or implied warranty comes with this service. ASDI does not guarantee that the prints taken will be accepted by the law enforcement agency to which they are given.
The passport photos service may be included with a class for an additional charge depending on the individual class. The passport photo service includes one passport quality photo taken by an instructor or class administrator. While ASDI will do its best to ensure all photos are of acceptable quality, no express or implied warranty comes with this service. ASDI does not guarantee that the photos taken will be accepted by the law enforcement agency to which they are given.
ASDI is not responsible for rejected applications for the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit or other course applications, regardless of the reason for the rejection.
From time to time, upon request of a student/client, ASDI may hold incomplete applications and their associated documents while waiting for the student/client to email or otherwise deliver the needed information to complete the application. ASDI will hold these applications and their associated documents for two weeks from the date of the course. If the needed information is not received in the two week period following the course, the application and their associated documents will be mailed to the student/client’s address on file or the address on the application in a reasonable amount of time at ASDI’s convenience. ASDI shall not be held responsible for documents lost due to loss by the delivery service or documents lost due to an incorrect address provided by the student/client. If the needed information is received within that two week period from the date of the course, ASDI will deliver the complete application and associated documents to the appropriate government agency or processing authority in a timely manner.
Completed applications and their associated documents may be held longer than the two week period from the date of the course upon request of a student/client when the application needs to be held until after a certain date (i.e. their 21st birthday). In such situations the application and their associated documents will be delivered to the appropriate government agency or processing authority after the specified date. ASDI shall not be held responsible for rejected applications, for any reason.
ASDI is not responsible for applications beyond the point that they are delivered to the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) or other processing authority. It is the student’s/client’s responsibility to make sure the BCI or other processing authority has their correct address and information.
For the safety of the students and the instructor, live ammunition is strictly prohibited from all ASDI classrooms and lecture halls. Live ammunition is allowed at the portions of classes held on or at shooting ranges; ammunition must be left in its box until the instructor or range safety officer instructs the participants of the class to remove it. Any student not following the instructor or range safety officers’ directions may be removed without refund or reimbursements.
ASDI rarely cancels scheduled class, but on occasion classes have been cancelled due to insufficient registrations or other reasons. ASDI may at it discretion cancel any class for any reason. Free class transfers will be given to those directly impacted by a class cancelation. Where no reasonable transfer can be made, refunds may be given. In the event of a cancelation due to force majure, such as weather or natural disaster, the class will be rescheduled and free class transfers offered. Class refunds will not be given for class cancelations due to force majure.
Most courses end with some sort of certification or certificate of completion. Leaving a class early or failing to complete/pass required tests may preclude a student from receiving such certifications. These certifications may come in the form of an instructor’s signature on an application, instructor’s stamp on an application, a physical certificate, or a digital certification depending on the course taken and applicable laws. Failure to complete or pass a course does not entitle a student to a refund. In the event that a student attends and passes a course but does not receive their certification, by their fault or otherwise, ASDI will make reasonable accommodations to make sure the student receives said certification. Such accommodations may require the student to meet an instructor in person or mail, at student’s expense, their application to the appropriate instructor. Instructors will attempt to meet the student or mail back a completed certification in a reasonable time frame. For classes taught outside of Utah, mail may be the only way to complete such certification. If an application is submitted to attend another class or receive a permit, wherein such certification is required, and the application is rejected, ASDI shall not be held responsible for student’s failure to obtain said certifications. ASDI shall not be held responsible for rejected applications, for any reason.
Course fees paid to ASDI do not included processing fees or background check fees that may be required by government agencies before receiving certain licenses, permits, or certifications. ASDI courses fees only cover the course and other associated services but do not included any fee required by state or federal governments for prepossessing or background checks, all of those fees can be paid directly by the applicant to the appropriate Agency, Bureau, Etc. It is the applicants responsibility to make sure that any such fees are paid in the appropriate time frame as to not delay or cause denial for their application.
