Our instructors are NRA certified with all the knowledge and experience needed to teach you everything you will need to know. In our course, we will discuss self-defense scenarios and go over step by step what to do and what not to do. Our goal is not to just help you check off all the requirements to get your permits; we want to ensure that our students leave the class feeling comfortable and confident in their knowledge of self-defense law in the United States and how to travel to many states with their concealed carry permit. Students will leave the course with the required certificate and instructions, to apply for permits in Utah, Oregon, Arizona, and Virginia. In class the instructor will go through the pros and cons of each permit so students can decide whether to apply for all the permits or just a few that benefit them the most.

Why Utah, Oregon, Arizona, and Virginia Permits?

Utah, Arizona, and Virginia concealed carry permits are three of the most widely accepted Non-Resident concealed carry permits. Whether you have a California permit or not it's smart to have at least one of these three permits. If you travel to Oregon and would like to carry there, then an Oregon permit is your only option. Having one or more of these permits gives you more options when traveling the US for work or vacation. This map illustrates the states you could legally conceal carry in if you obtain all of these permits.

Currently, a California CCW is required to carry concealed in the state, as California does not honor permits from other states. However, with Donald Trump in office and a 2nd amendment friendly Supreme Court, changes may be on the horizon. Trump has pledged to sign a National Reciprocity Bill, which would require states to honor concealed carry permits from other states, ensuring Second Amendment rights across state lines. The Supreme Court could also mandate reciprocity if the right case arises. Obtaining a non-resident permit from states like Utah, Arizona, Virgina, and Oregon now allows concealed carry in up to 32 states, while also preparing gun owners for potential changes in reciprocity laws.

Common Questions

What if I only want one or two of the four permits included in this class?

You can apply for all four permits or just the ones that make sense for you individually. This class will qualify you for the concealed carry permit of Utah, Oregon, Virgina, and Arizona and during the class, your instructor will review the pros and cons of each permit. Many of our students apply for all four but most only apply for one or two of the permits.

After completing the multi-state course, what else is left to do?

The application process for each state's permit is a little different. In class applications for each state will be handed out for those states that do not have online applications. Additionally, instructions on how to obtain each permit will be given to students. Most of the permits will require you to submit your application with a fingerprint card and passport quality picture and pay a fee to the state. After that you simply wait for the permit to show up in the mail

How does national reciprocity affect this?

With Donald Trump in the White House, national reciprocity could become a reality. National reciprocity proposes to allow anyone with a concealed carry permit to carry in all 50 states. Unfortunately, this law won’t make getting a California permit any easier. If this law passes, getting a Non-Resident Concealed Firearms permit will likely be the best way to legally carry nationwide for many Californians. There is no need to wait; you can get your non-resident permit now in anticipation of the passage of "The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act."
