What does the class include?
Our Indiana Concealed Carry Essentials course will help you build the knowledge and confidence to carry responsibly in Indiana, even though the state does not require a class for eligible individuals to carry. This course covers firearm safety and safe handling practices, handgun operation, ammunition knowledge and shooting fundamentals, Indiana firearm and carry laws, use-of-force and self-defense principles, conflict avoidance and situational awareness, safe firearm storage practices, legal responsibilities of concealed carry, defensive mindset, and practical carry considerations.

All of our Indiana Concealed Carry Essentials classes teach students the laws and responsibilities they should know to legally and responsibly carry a firearm. Indiana allows permitless carry for eligible individuals, but many residents still choose to obtain an Indiana License to Carry Handgun, or LTCH, for reciprocity when traveling and to demonstrate formal firearms training and legal understanding. Whether you choose to apply for an LTCH or carry under Indiana’s permitless carry law, you are still responsible for knowing the laws and information covered in our classes. Our instructors are USCCA/NRA-certified and have the knowledge and experience needed to teach you what you need to know. In our course, we will discuss self-defense scenarios and go over step by step what to do and what not to do. Our goal is not just to provide training; we want to ensure that our students leave the class feeling comfortable and confident in their knowledge of Indiana firearm, concealed carry, and self-defense laws, ready to carry safely and responsibly.

Why take an Indiana Concealed Carry Essentials class if it is not required?
Indiana allows eligible individuals to carry a handgun without a permit, but that does not mean training is unnecessary. You are still responsible for knowing Indiana firearm laws, where you can and cannot carry, use-of-force rules, safe handling practices, and how to respond in a self-defense situation. Many Indiana residents also choose to obtain an Indiana License to Carry Handgun for reciprocity when traveling outside the state, since Indiana law specifically allows a person to obtain a license for carry in another state under a reciprocity agreement. This class gives you more than basic information; it gives you the legal understanding, safety training, and confidence needed to carry responsibly in Indiana and beyond.
