What does the class include?

All of our Utah concealed carry permit classes are designed as a one stop solution. During your four-hour classroom instruction, the following will be covered:

Fingerprints for the required FBI/State of Utah background check.
In-depth discussion about Utah firearms law

Instruction on loading and unloading a firearm

When you attend a Utah concealed carry class, you can get everything done that day. In our class, we will walk you through all the paperwork and fingerprint you for your background check. We offer a $15.00 service to take your permit photo and deliver your completed application to the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification for processing. When we deliver your application, you have nothing left to do, and your permit will show up in the mail.

Utah now offers a provisional permit for those 18-20 years old. To receive the provisional permit, 18–20-year-olds can register for any of our Utah Concealed Carry classes. Click here for more info.

Practical Training

In your class, you will learn proper firearm handling skills, weapon safety, and firearms laws. As part of all of our classes, we focus on day-to-day situations such as firearms storage, safety around children, and concealed carry.

Knowledgeable Instructors

All of our instructors are certified by the NRA. Each instructor is well versed in self-defense, both inside and outside the home. The knowledge they impart will give you the foundation to feel comfortable carrying your firearm to the places you go.

Everyday Safety

Safety both in the class and out is a top priority for all of our instructors. To ensure your safety, no live ammunition is permitted in the classroom. We are dedicated to making firearms ownership safe and enjoyable.

Why Utah's Permit?

The Utah concealed carry permit is one of the most valuable permits in the US for several reasons. Honored in over 35 states, the Utah permit allows you to travel concealed throughout most of the nation. The permit only requires a four-hour classroom firearms familiarity course with no range time required. With new permit fee's at only $53.25 and renewal at $20.00 after 5 years, the permit is inexpensive to both acquire and maintain. Utah now offers a provisional permit for those 18-20 years old.

Isn't Utah Constitutional carry now, why should I still get a permit?

While it is true that Utah is a Constitutional Carry state, there are still a lot of benefits to obtaining your CCW Permit, such as carrying a firearm in, on, or around a school. Additionally, Utah is one of the most recognized permits in the nation, making it a must for anyone who travels. 4 Reasons Utahans Still Need a Concealed Carry Permit

Can I get a permit before I turn 21?

Yes, the Utah legislature passed HB 198 which allows for persons age 18-20 to receive a provisional permit. The provisional permit will work the same way as the standard Utah Concealed Firearm Permit with one restriction, persons holding the provisional permit are restricted from carrying a firearm on or near private/public elementary schools or secondary school premises (K-12). HB 198 was signed by the Governor, it became law May 9th, 2017. All of our classes meet the requirements for the provisional and standard permits,18-20 year-olds may register for any of our upcoming classes.

Can I get a Utah Permit without being a Utah resident?

Yes, you can but it may require an additional step. If your home state honors the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit then you must first obtain a permit from your home state. If your home state does not honor the Utah permit then all you need to do is take a class just like Utah residents. The place to check for the most updated info on this is the Utah BCI. You can also just see our map here, if your home state is black on the map, you won't need a permit from there first to get one from Utah.
