How to Apply for an Arizona Concealed Carry Permit (CWP)
This guide walks you through the step-by-step process to apply for an Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP), including fingerprinting through Fieldprint and submitting your application to Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS).
 

Complete the Application
Complete the official application form from AZ DPS.

You will need to include:
 

  • Completed application form- can be done online
  • Fingerprint cards (from Fieldprint process if applicable)
  • Proof of firearms training- signed certificate received after class
  • Copy of a valid state ID
  • If born outside the USA, you will need a U.S. passport or permanent resident card
  • Application fee
    • If applying online- pay with credit card
    • If applying through mail- must use money order or certified check (no personal checks or cash)

Get Fingerprinted (Fieldprint)
Arizona requires 2 fingerprint cards as part of your application. The easiest way to complete this is through Fieldprint.

What to expect:
 

  • Schedule an appointment online
  • Visit a Fieldprint location near you
  • Have your fingerprints taken electronically

Wait for Processing
 

  • Processing time can take several weeks (75 days)
