What does the class include?
All of our Tennessee concealed carry permit classes are designed to ensure that students leave confident in their ability to go and conceal carry. During your class, the following will be covered:
- Tennessee T.C.A. § 39-17-1351 Compliant Class required to receive your permit
- In-depth discussion on Tennessee firearms law
- Detailed review of Tennessee Self Defense law
- Review of where you can and can not carry in Tennessee
- Proper handgun selection for beginners and advanced shooters
- The class is 2 hours long
- Class costs only $30.00
All of our Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit classes will qualify students to apply for their Tennessee Concealed Handgun Carry Permit. Tennessee offers both the Enhanced Concealed Handgun Carry Permit and the Concealed Handgun Carry Permit (CHCP). The 8-year Concealed Handgun Carry Permit (CHCP) state application fee is $65.00, while the 8-year Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit state application fee is $100.00.
Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable USCCA/NRA instructors. In the class, we will strive to ensure that each student leaves feeling comfortable with their knowledge of Tennessee handgun carry laws and self-defense laws. Our goal is not to just help you check off the class needed to get your permit; we want you to leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely and responsibly carry.
We will discuss self-defense scenarios and go through point by point what to do and what not to do in a defensive encounter. We will also review Tennessee laws regarding prohibited locations, interactions with law enforcement, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a handgun.
Finally, we will ensure everyone leaves with the required certificate of completion and guidance on the Tennessee application process. The permit application fee is paid directly to the State of Tennessee and is separate from the class fee.
