- You must not be a convict for any crime that automatically disqualifies someone from applying for a permit in Pennsylvania for 10 years before application
- You must be mentally stable and not have any previous mental issues or admission to a mental home
- You must not be an illegal user of stimulants and depressants such as marijuana, cocaine, and other narcotics
- You must not be a seasoned drunkard
- You must not be a convict or charged with any crime that has more than a one-year jail term
- You must not be a fugitive or have an arrest warrant in your name

What is the total cost of receiving a Pennsylvania License to Carry?
The ASDI Pennsylvania License to Carry class is $45. The Pennsylvania state fee for processing the application, running the state background check, and issuing the permit is $20. The total cost of receiving the license for students taking the ASDI Pennsylvania License to Carry class is $65.

After completing my Pennsylvania License to Carry class, what else is left to do?
Pennsylvania does not require you to take a course to get your License to Carry. Following the class, if you have not applied for your License to Carry, you can do so using the online application system. The course will also qualify you to apply for the Arizona and Virginia non-resident permits.
This class fits all the requirements outlined by the state to get your Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit. Once you have completed the class you will receive the certificate of course completion, signed by your instructor, required by the state to get your permit. To apply, you will need to fill out the application, including 2 completed fingerprint cards, your certificate of course completion, a copy of your driver’s license, and a certified check for $60 paid to the AZ DPS (Arizona Department of Public Safety). You will mail in all these documents to the DPS and the permit will show up in the mail 6-9 weeks after submission.
This class fits all the requirements outlined by the state to get your Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit. Non-residents may apply in writing to the Virginia state police.
Can I obtain a Pennsylvania non-resident license to carry?
People who are not residents of Pennsylvania may apply for and receive a Non-Resident License To Carry Firearms in Pennsylvania. The process is exactly the same as it is for residents except the applicant must have a permit or license for the state in which they have residency prior to application for the Pennsylvania license to carry.

Am I required to take a course to receive my Pennsylvania License to Carry (LTC)?
No, Pennsylvania does not require you to take a course to get your License to Carry. This is a non-required course that we offer to those that want to ensure they know all the laws around concealed carry in Pennsylvania. We will cover Pennsylvania's concealed carry laws and use of lethal force laws and answer any questions students may have before getting their licenses. It is incredibly important to know this information so you can conceal carry legally and responsibly. Additionally, this class meets the legal requirements to allow students to apply for Arizona Concealed Weapons Permits and Virginia Concealed Handgun Permits.
Why would a Pennsylvanian want to have an Arizona non-resident concealed weapons permit?
The Arizona Non-Resident Concealed Weapons Permit by itself would allow you to carry a firearm in 30 states. With that said to carry in Pennsylvania, you must have a Pennsylvania License to Carry. For that reason, it is very common for Pennsylvanians to obtain both an Arizona Permit and Pennsylvania License to Carry. Together, a Pennsylvania License and Arizona Permit allow you to carry your firearm in 35 states across the US. If you ever move away from Pennsylvania we recommend you maintain an Arizona permit and obtain a permit from your new home state. If you are not a Pennsylvania resident you may still take this course solely to meet the legal requirements to receive either an Arizona or Virginia concealed carry permit.
