All our Mississippi Enhanced Carry Endorsement classes are designed to satisfy the training requirement needed to apply for the Enhanced Carry Endorsement on a Mississippi firearms permit. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors. In the class, we will strive to ensure that each student leaves feeling comfortable with their knowledge of Mississippi concealed carry laws, Mississippi self-defense laws, safe firearm handling, and responsible everyday carry. Our goal is not to just help you check off the class needed to apply for your Enhanced Carry Endorsement; we want you to leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to go out and conceal carry responsibly. We will discuss self-defense scenarios and go through point by point what to do and what not to do. The class is 8 hours long, with 6 hours of lecture followed by 2 hours of shooting on the firing line. Finally, students will leave with the required certificate of completion needed to continue the application process through the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Firearm Permit Division, which provides firearm permit applications and enhanced permit services.

Why Mississippi's Enhanced Carry Permit?
Mississippi allows certain forms of carry without a permit, but the Mississippi Enhanced Carry Endorsement remains valuable for residents who want formal training, proof of competency, reciprocity in 35 states, and broader carry benefits. If you choose to get the Enhanced Carry Endorsement, you must complete a certified training course, and Mississippi law provides that a person licensed under Section 45-9-101 who completes the required instructional course may receive an endorsement authorizing carry in certain additional locations, subject to important exceptions such as courtrooms during judicial proceedings, police or sheriff stations, highway patrol stations, detention facilities, prisons, jails, and places of nuisance.
This class provides the required training needed to apply for your Mississippi Enhanced Carry Endorsement and helps students better understand Mississippi carry laws, self-defense law, safe firearm handling, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm. After class, students can continue the application process through the Mississippi Department of Public Safety by submitting the required application materials, fingerprints, fees, certificate of completion, and supporting documents. DPS provides firearm permit application forms and instructions for first-time applicants, renewals, and enhanced permit services.
