What does the class include?
All of our Michigan Concealed Pistol License classes are designed to help students leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to carry responsibly. During your class, the following will be covered:
- Michigan Compiled Laws § 28.425j compliant training for CPL applicants
- In-depth discussion on Michigan concealed carry laws and self-defense law
- Review of where you can and cannot legally carry in Michigan
- Safe storage, use, and handling of a pistol, including child safety
- Ammunition knowledge, pistol shooting fundamentals, and proper handgun selection
- Avoiding criminal attack, controlling violent confrontations, and responsible carry scenarios
- At least 8 hours of training, including live-fire range training and at least 3 hours of range time
- Class costs only $85.00
All of our Michigan Concealed Pistol License classes are designed to satisfy the training requirement needed to apply for a Michigan CPL. Michigan generally requires individuals to obtain a CPL to carry a concealed pistol in public, and under Michigan Compiled Laws § 28.425j, applicants must complete at least eight hours of qualifying pistol safety training, including a minimum of three hours on a firing range and 30 rounds fired.
Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable USCCA/NRA instructors who meet applicable Michigan training requirements. Throughout the class, we strive to ensure each student develops a strong understanding of Michigan concealed carry and self-defense laws, lawful use of deadly force, safe pistol handling, responsible storage, and everyday carry.
Our goal is not just to help you complete the training needed for your license, but to ensure you leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to carry responsibly. Through real-world self-defense scenarios, practical instruction, and live-fire training, students will learn what to do, what to avoid, and how to make informed decisions in potentially dangerous situations.
Upon successful completion, students will receive the required certificate of completion needed to continue the Michigan CPL application process through their county clerk's office.

Why Michigan's Permit?
Michigan generally requires individuals to obtain a valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) before carrying a concealed pistol in public or carrying a pistol in a vehicle, subject to limited statutory exceptions. Unlike permitless carry states, Michigan requires applicants to complete qualifying firearm safety training and meet state and federal eligibility requirements before obtaining a CPL. A Michigan CPL allows qualified individuals to carry concealed in accordance with applicable laws and location restrictions. It also provides formal handgun training, documented competency, and potential concealed carry reciprocity with participating states when traveling outside Michigan.
This class provides the training required under Michigan Compiled Laws § 28.425j. Upon successful completion, eligible applicants can continue the licensing process through their county clerk's office by submitting the required application, training certificate, fees, fingerprints, and supporting documentation. Applicants should verify current requirements with Michigan State Police and their county clerk before applying.
