What does the class include?
All of our Idaho concealed carry permit classes are designed to ensure that students leave confident in their ability to go and conceal carry. During your class, the following will be covered:
- Idaho Code § 18-3302K compliant class required to apply for your Enhanced Concealed Weapons License
- In-depth discussion of Idaho firearms law, self-defense law, and lawful use of deadly force
- Review of where you can and cannot legally carry concealed in Idaho
- Safe handgun handling, storage, transportation, and proper handgun selection
- Required in-person training, self-defense principles, and live-fire exercises with a minimum of 98 rounds
- The class is 8 hours long
- Class costs only $120.00
All our Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons License classes will qualify students to apply for their Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons License (ECWL) under Idaho Code § 18-3302K. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable USCCA/NRA instructors, with Idaho firearms law and lawful use-of-deadly-force instruction provided by qualified legal or law enforcement professionals as required by state law.
Throughout the class, we strive to ensure that each student leaves feeling comfortable and confident in their understanding of Idaho concealed carry laws, self-defense principles, safe handgun handling, and responsible everyday carry. Through real-world self-defense scenarios, hands-on instruction, and required live-fire exercises involving at least 98 rounds, students will learn what to do, what to avoid, and how to make informed decisions.
Our goal is not just to help you complete the training needed for your license, but to ensure you leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to carry responsibly. Upon successful completion, students will receive the required training certificate and completed documentation needed to continue the ECWL application process through their local county sheriff's office. Application fees, fingerprinting, and background checks are handled by the sheriff's office, with certain fees and procedures varying by county.

Why Idaho's Enhanced Permit?
Idaho is what many call a “Constitutional Carry” state, which means you are not required to have a concealed weapons license to carry a concealed handgun in Idaho as long as you are legally allowed to possess a firearm. However, constitutional carry generally stops at the state border. If you want to carry in many other states, you will need a concealed carry permit or license honored by that state. Fortunately, Idaho’s Enhanced Concealed Weapons License (ECWL), issued under Idaho Code § 18-3302K, offers broader reciprocity than Idaho’s standard license and is recognized by 39 states. This class is the required training needed to apply for your Idaho ECWL. After the course, all you need to do is submit your application, certificate of completion, fingerprints, and required fees through your local county sheriff’s office. Idaho is a “shall issue” state, meaning that as long as you complete the required training, meet the legal qualifications, and pass the required background check, your license will generally be issued.
