All of our Massachusetts License to Carry classes are designed to satisfy the basic firearms safety training requirement needed to apply for a Massachusetts LTC. Massachusetts law states that no License to Carry shall be issued unless the applicant submits a basic firearms safety certificate meeting the requirements of Section 131P. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors who strive to ensure that each student leaves feeling comfortable with their knowledge of Massachusetts firearms laws, Massachusetts self-defense laws, safe firearm handling, and responsible everyday carry.
Our goal is not just to help you check off the class needed to apply for your License to Carry; we want you to leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to carry responsibly. We will discuss self-defense scenarios and go point by point through what to do and what not to do. Massachusetts firearms safety course curriculum includes safe use, handling, and storage of firearms, methods for securing and childproofing firearms, applicable laws related to possession, transportation, and storage, use-of-force laws, disengagement tactics, and live firearms training. Students will leave with the required training documentation needed to continue the LTC application process through their local licensing authority.

Why Massachusetts' Permit?
Massachusetts does not have constitutional carry, which means residents generally need a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms to carry a handgun in the Commonwealth. Under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140, Section 131, an LTC allows the holder to purchase, rent, lease, borrow, possess, and carry firearms and ammunition, subject to Massachusetts restrictions and applicable law. This class provides the basic firearms safety training required under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140, Sections 131 and 131P. After the course, students can continue the application process through their local licensing authority, typically their city or town police department. Massachusetts licenses are issued to qualified applicants who meet the statutory requirements and are not otherwise disqualified or determined unsuitable under state law.
