All our Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit classes are designed to satisfy the training requirement needed to apply for a Nebraska CHP. Under Nebraska Revised Statute § 69-2432, applicants must successfully complete a Nebraska State Patrol-approved handgun training and safety course that includes required firearm safety instruction and demonstration of handgun competency. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable USCCA/NRA instructors who meet Nebraska State Patrol requirements. Why Nebraska's Concealed Handgun Permit?
Although Nebraska has allowed eligible individuals to carry concealed without a permit since September 2, 2023, obtaining a Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) offers additional benefits. A CHP provides documented handgun competency, concealed carry reciprocity with participating states, and an exemption from Nebraska's handgun purchase certificate requirement for qualifying purchases and transfers under Nebraska Revised Statute § 69-2403. Federal firearm purchase requirements still apply.
This class provides the training required under Nebraska Revised Statute § 69-2432. Upon successful completion, eligible applicants can continue the application process through the Nebraska State Patrol by submitting their training certificate, application, identification, fingerprints, and required documentation. The initial permit fee is $100, separate from the class fee, and the permit is valid for five years.
