All our Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit classes are designed to satisfy the training requirement needed to apply for a Nebraska CHP. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors. In the class, we strive to ensure that each student leaves feeling comfortable with their knowledge of Nebraska concealed handgun laws, Nebraska self-defense laws, safe handgun handling, and responsible everyday carry. Our goal is not just to help you check off the class needed to apply for your permit; we want you to leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to carry responsibly. We will discuss self-defense scenarios and go point by point through what to do and what not to do. Finally, students will leave with the required certificate of completion needed to continue the application process through the Nebraska State Patrol. Nebraska State Patrol requires applicants who do not currently hold a valid Nebraska CHP to apply in person, complete an approved handgun training and safety course, complete the CHP application, and present the required documentation at a Nebraska State Patrol headquarters location.

Why Nebraska's Concealed Handgun Permit?
Nebraska now allows eligible individuals to carry a concealed handgun without a permit. Nebraska State Patrol states that, as of September 2, 2023, a Concealed Handgun Permit is no longer required to carry a concealed handgun in Nebraska, and that a person other than a minor or prohibited person may carry a concealed handgun anywhere in Nebraska, applying to residents and nonresidents while carrying within the state. However, the Nebraska CHP remains valuable for residents who want formal training, proof of competency, and the ability to carry in states that recognize Nebraska’s permit. A Nebraska CHP may also be useful because Nebraska law still requires either a handgun purchase certificate or a Nebraska-issued concealed handgun permit for certain handgun purchases or transfers.
This class provides the approved handgun training and safety course needed to apply for your Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit under Nebraska Revised Statute § 69-2432. After class, students can continue the application process through the Nebraska State Patrol by submitting the required application, proof of training, proof of identification, proof of citizenship or lawful status, proof of address, applicable fee, fingerprints, and photographs. Nebraska State Patrol lists the initial permit fee as $100, and the permit is valid for five years.
